Hi guys, I thought I would review the products that I bought recently from LUSH. You may have seen them in my latest haul post, but if not here are the products I am going to review for you today.
First up is the BB Seaweed Face Mask - £5.95 for 75g
"Oh I do like to BBside the seaside
A mask made with men in mind, but without excluding women.
For softening, cooling and reducing redness.
Honey, seaweed and aloe vera to soften and soothe. Olive oil to moisturise. Fresh rose petals and rose absolute to reduce redness. Rosemary oil to regenerate the skin. All of this is held together with kaolin, ground almonds and millet flakes – so when you wash this off you are also gently exfoliating and removing dead skin."
I bought this as I was suffering from really bad skin after my reaction to the Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleanser and I wanted something that would soothe my skin without risking another breakout. I had used this once before, after convincing my mum to buy it over Christmas, and it is such an amazing product. This is the first face mask I have used since I was about 15 as I had a bad reaction to a Montagne Jeunesse heating mask which left me looking sunburnt for about a week. It really does do what it says on the tub and makes my skin look a lot healthier which is really needed, especially with the lovely weather we are having at the moment. The only problem is that it doesn't last very long (in terms of use by date) and it goes a suprisingly long way so it would be nice if it lasted longer than 2 months.
Next is the Mask of Magnaminty - £4.95 for 125g (the larger version is £8.75 for 315g)
"Don't mask those spots - Mask of Magnaminty them
This is one of our ultimate products and is intended for what Adrian Mole (Age 13 3/4) describes as Big Boy spots. Spots that take two days to come up but five days to bugger off. And always when you have a date or something important coming up. Mask of Magnaminty does everything it can to fight these types of outbreaks and return the skin to tip top condition."
This was purchased to try and combat the spots that have been appearing on my chest and back areas. I really love the smell of this - it's nice to use in the morning to wake you up! I can't say that I have been wowed by this product. I'm not sure why it isn't really working for me, but it doesn't dry out my skin so that is good. It does reduce the redness but that's about it.
Then it's the Rub Rub Rub - £7.95 for 330g

"Rub rub rub, three men in a tub
No, not really, actually this tub contains everything you need to spring clean your skin and leave you rubbed up the right way
When it comes to scrubs, some of us like it rough, whilst some of us prefer the smooth operators."
This was actually a secret santa gift so I didn't actually buy it, but I thought I would include it for review purposes. Normally I use the Garnier Body Tonic Sugar Scrub but I gave this a go as I thought it would be a lot more natural and better for my skin than the Garnier one, which is unfortunately full of parabens :( However, I found this product to be quite drying for my skin. I do suffer from quite dry skin anyway, but I have a miracle body moisturising (it's called Doublebase Gel or something like that, and it's from the pharmacy) which means I only have to moisturise every other day. With this product, I had flaky skin just hours after moisturising so I won't be using this again. It's a shame because it did leave my skin feeling smooth, if only for a few hours. It does mention the possibility of using it as a hair scrub in the description, but I have no idea how you would go about doing that. If anyone does, please let me know in the comments section!
Finally it's the Bubblegum Lip Scrub - £5.25 for 25g
"My boy Lollipop
You are as sweet as candy
The pink all things girly, bubblegum flavour lip scrub.
Clears dead skin and flakiness from lips, leaving them moisturised and smooth."
This product has been raved about on so many blogs so I just had to have it. Plus, I suffer from quite dry lips during winter so I thought this would be useful. Firstly, I am going to say that I wish I bought the Mint Juleps one instead, as I find this quite sweet (smells like cherryade to me) and the taste isn't really for me, although I am getting used to it. It does do what it says - keeps my lips in tip top condition - and it isn't too harsh that it damages them. The only thing is that I wish they did smaller pots as you really don't have to use a lot and they only last 2 months so a 15g pot would be nice please LUSH.
So the only product I will probably re-purchase here is the BB Seaweed, and potentially the Lip Scrub, depends on whether or not I can find a good DIY alternative (I tried making one but it was way too sticky and I used the wrong type of sugar so it ended up in the bin).
I am hoping to branch out and use more LUSH products, maybe I'll try some of their cleansers and toners and bits like that. Are there any products that you guys would recommend for someone with sensitive and dry skin?
