Review of Burt's Bees Tips and Toes Kit

Hi guys! Today I have a review for you of the Burt's Bee's Tips and Toes Kit which was mentioned in my recent Beauty Haul post. It retails for £12.99 at Boots.

As you can see there are 6 items in this kit: 1) Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream - 7g 2) Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil - 4.25g 3) Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey & Grapeseed Oil Hand Cream - 20g 4) Coconut Foot Cream - 20g 5) Hand Salve - 8.5g 6) Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream - 8.5g

First up is the Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream. So what does it say on the tin?
"This super rich, all natural hand cream is made with Sweet Almond Oil and Vitamin E to moisturize dry skin and Beeswax to help seal and shield your hands from the elements. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Massage cream into hands as often as needed."
Personally, I would not buy this product unless I had really dry hands. You have to use quite a bit as it is quite hard to use because of the consistency - most hand creams are a lot creamier. Saying that, it does make my hands really soft and if you do suffer from really dry hands in winter I would definitely recommend that you go and get some. You can get 57g for £9.99 in Boots. It smells like marzipan to me and I'm not a big fan of that but considering it is all natural it doesn't put me off too much - I find that most natural hand creams have a hemp smell which I really don't like as it seems really earthy and makes my hands smell a bit like dirty potatoes (I don't really know how else to describe it lol)!

Next is the Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil.
"Nourish and condition lips with our replenishing pomegranate lip balm. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Apply balm liberally to lips as often as needed."
This, along with the cuticle cream, was the reason I actually brought the kit. You get a full size balm which retails for £3.69 in Boots. It is really nourishing on your lips but it doesn't last all day - this may just be for me as I have rather dry lips. I do prefer the Soft Lips French Vanilla lip balm but as far as lip balms go it is pretty good. There isn't an overwhelming smell and it doesn't really taste of anything so if you are after a lip balm that is discreet but you still want a natural soft lip look this is definitely for you!

Now we have the Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey & Grapeseed Oil Hand Cream.
"Daily therapy enriched with humectant Honey, vitamin-rich Grapeseed Oil and moisturizing Jojoba Butter. Great for extremely dry hands. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Massage cream into hands as often as needed."
I love hand cream and this is a really handy size to put in your handbag. I wish they actually sold this size as I think I would buy this rather than the large size. A full size product (75g) is £9.99 in Boots. Initially, when I read the description, I was worried that it would be greasy as it has oil in it. It is a little bit sticky after you first apply it but I challenge you to find a hand cream that is good and doesn't do that! You can really feel your skin absorbing this and it's quite refreshing in a way, and not greasy at all. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone, whether you have dry hands or not! It has quite a subtle scent as well which is nice.

Now it's time for the Coconut Foot Cream.
"Our Coconut Foot Cream is enriched with a softening blend of super-saturated Coconut Oil and other natural emollient ingredients with a hint of Peppermint for smooth, pampered feet. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Apply liberally to rough and calloused feet before bedtime and cover overnight with cotton socks."
I wasn't really too fussed when I saw this was in the kit but I think it has actually become the best item in there! My poor feet get so abused all the time (especially with my love of dolly shoes) and they were rather calloused (I would have put a picture up but I hate feet and I am not ready to share mine with the world!), so I whipped this on and it was not was I was expecting. It is quite sticky, and I felt like I was putting honey on my heels, so you definitely have to put socks over the top. I wasn't expecting much but the next morning, off came the socks (sleeping in socks was a wierd experience but totally worth it) and voila, pretty smooth heels. I had to do this for one more night to get completely soft feet but you really don't have to use much so the big size would definitely be a good investment and I will be buying it when I run out. Full size (120g), this product is £11.99 in Boots.

The Hand Salve is up next on our list.
"Our all-purpose hand salve is made with Botanical Oils, Herbs and Beeswax, specially formulate to deeply nourish and soften dry hands and other areas that need extra moisturizing. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Massage salve into hands as often as needed."
I'm going to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what this product is meant to do. For me the hand creams both work fine (one intensive and one for everyday use) so why would you buy this as well? It would be a good alternative to the Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream but I find that easier to work with although the salve does smell nicer. It is good to target specific areas, say if you had callouses on your palms but that is it for me I'm afraid. You can get a full size tin (85g) for £9.18 in Boots.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Lemon  Butter Cuticle Cream.
"A soothing blend of natural ingredients to nourish weak nails and soften dry cuticles. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Massage cream into cuticles and nails, daily."
I have been reading beauty blogs for about 6 months now and this is a cult product among them (along with the Lush version), so I was dying to get this. The first thing I have to mention is the smell - it is gorgeous, and reminds me of lemon drizzle cake. As an ex-nail biter this could be hazardous (having nails that smell like cake) but the smell doesn't last too long on your hands.

As for how good it actually is, I am still undecided. I have literally only just stopped biting my nails in November (after 20 odd years) so as you can imagine, my cuticles are in pretty bad shape. This is helping them on their road to recovery, but I don't think it is intensive enough to fix them. This is more for keeping them in good condition once you get them under control I think. If you have really bad cuticles, I would recommend OPI's Avoplex cuticle oil for an intensive condition. If you have normal cuticles then I would recommend this and I will be buying a new one when I run out and when my nails are in better condition. I do have to say though, this is more of a salve than a cream... The full size tin (17g) is £5.99 in Boots.

My impression overall is that I would definitely recommend that you buy this product if you are new to Burt's Bee's (as I was) and you wish to know what would suit your needs. I think it is really good value for money and it would also make an excellent present to someone!

Next on my Burt's Bee's wish list is the Facial Kit and the Hand Soap! What do you love from this brand?
